Ballet Appreciation Series:
The Sleeping Beauty

Corps de Ballet Choreography
/
Variation Workshop

26 & 27 March 2022

Studio by Raquel Yeo proudly presents the Ballet Appreciation Series: The Sleeping Beauty.

Based on Charles Perrault's timeless fairytale, The Sleeping Beauty is an enchanting ballet that features the music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa.

The ballet tells the story of the lovely Princess Aurora who is cursed at her christening by Carabosse, the Fairy of Darkness. A curse has been placed on Princess Aurora that she will one day prick her finger on a spindle and die. The Lilac Fairy softens the curse by promising that Princess Aurora shall not die from the prick of her finger, but will fall into a slumber of 100 years upon her 16th birthday only to be awoken by a kiss from Prince Desiré.

Over the 2-day workshop, get inducted to the beloved classic story of The Sleeping Beauty and learn a choreography from the ballet.

This workshop is targeted to adult learners of two levels: Beginner and Intermediate. Participants can choose the level based on their dance experience.

*In view of the COVID-19 climate, all participants need to be fully vaccinated.
